1 A Mood Board

A mood board is a visual representation of your design concept, style, and color scheme. It can be a physical collage of images, fabrics, and samples, or a digital collection of photos, graphics, and fonts. A mood board helps you communicate your ideas to clients, contractors, and suppliers, and also serves as a reference point for your project. You can use online tools like Pinterest, Canva, or Adobe Spark to create your mood board, or simply cut and paste from magazines and catalogs.

In today's age of multiple design studios approaching the same prospect, it is the accuracy with which the Moodboards are made that will decide the chances of the Prospect converting to Customer. Creativity combined with a presentation structure will be the key to making an effective Moodboard.

2 A Tape Measure

A tape measure is a must-have tool for any interior design project. You need to measure the dimensions of your space, furniture, windows, doors, and accessories, and make sure they fit and align properly. A tape measure also helps you plan the layout of your room, calculate the amount of materials you need, and avoid costly mistakes. You can use a traditional tape measure, or a digital one that connects to your smartphone or tablet.

One of the most important steps to design anything, is to measure everything. If you are using a digital tape measure (laser), just make sure the dimension is accurate with a fisical one, before start using it. For smaller things you are going to need the fisical one. If you just want to get a general ideia of how a space is, the phone scans can do the job, but afterwards make sure to confirm the measurments

A tape measure is an essential tool for interior design, as it allows you to measure the dimensions of any space or object accurately. Without a tape measure, you would not be able to plan, design, or execute any interior project successfully. A tape measure helps you to determine the size, shape, and proportion of the elements in your interior, such as furniture, windows, walls, floors, and ceilings. It also helps you to avoid common mistakes, such as ordering the wrong size of materials, wasting time and money, or creating a cluttered or unbalanced space. A tape measure enables you to create a floor plan, a scale drawing, and a budget for your interior project.

3 A Level

A level is a tool that helps you check if a surface is horizontal or vertical, or if an object is aligned or balanced. You need a level to hang pictures, mirrors, shelves, and curtains, and to install cabinets, tiles, and flooring. A level also helps you create a symmetrical and harmonious design, and avoid a sloppy or uneven look. You can use a standard bubble level, or a laser level that projects a straight line on the wall.

Have you ever hung a wall decoration, only to find out that it's not level? It can be frustrating, but thankfully, there's a tool that can help - a level. A level is a must-have tool for those who install tiles, as it ensures that all tiles are installed evenly. Moreover, a level can be incredibly useful when hanging wall cabinets, shelves, and other wall decorations. Currently, the best level available is a laser level. It's a simple tool that helps you balance everything accurately.

4 A Paint Tester

A paint tester is a tool that lets you try out different paint colors and finishes on your walls, before you commit to buying gallons of paint. A paint tester can be a small sample pot of paint, a peel-and-stick paint swatch, or a digital app that simulates the paint color on your wall. A paint tester helps you see how the paint color looks in different lighting conditions, how it matches with your furniture and accessories, and how it affects the mood and atmosphere of your room.

Determining whether a certain paint is suitable for a particular space is essential, and using a paint tester can help with this. Personally, I enjoy testing out different paint samples, whether they come in small jars or as stickers.

Changing the paint colour in your home is one of the easiest and most effective ways to transform your space and paint tester pots are an important part of the process not to be skipped. Colours can change according to the time of day and the surface they are painted on so it is important to see how your chosen colour will look when taking these details into account. By using a tester patch or card (A5 size ideally, anything smaller is difficult to assess) you can live with the colours for a few days to see how they look with the natural and artificial lighting and surfaces in your own home. Paint testers will save you time and money in the long run and help you find the perfect hue for your interior.

5 A Wallpaper Smoother

A wallpaper smoother is a tool that helps you apply wallpaper smoothly and evenly on your walls, without bubbles, wrinkles, or tears. A wallpaper smoother can be a plastic or metal scraper, a rubber roller, or a squeegee. A wallpaper smoother helps you press the wallpaper firmly onto the wall, remove any excess glue or air pockets, and trim the edges neatly. A wallpaper smoother also helps you avoid damaging the wallpaper or the wall surface.

6 A Sketch Pad

A sketch pad is a tool that helps you draw your design ideas, plans, and sketches. A sketch pad can be a paper notebook, a drawing tablet, or a sketching app. A sketch pad helps you visualize your design, experiment with different options, and refine your details. A sketch pad also helps you express your creativity, showcase your style, and impress your clients.
