Then come and join our global team as Pre-Development & Data Privacy Engineer (f/m/d) in the field of Computed Tomography to play a key role as part of the algorithm pre-development team in the area of medical image analysis by supporting the company in maintaining the highest standards of data privacy compliance.Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

• You assist in the development of image processing algorithms for clinical applications and supervise technology suppliers, especially for artificial intelligence-supported cancer therapy planning
• In your role, you contribute to the definition and implementation of de-identification and anonymization procedures for patient data, especially image data and associated non-image data, collected in collaboration with health organizations
• Beyond maintaining existing de-identification and data management software tools, you conceptualize and develop additional required tools, including for automatic image manipulation, to enable secure and data protection-compliant development of data-driven applications in computed tomography
• You detect direct and indirect identifiers and conduct risk assessments of datasets, particularly the development and calculation of re-identification risks, to provide advice on mitigating such risks
• During the planning of these procedures, you discuss data requirements with internal stakeholders and advise them on compliance with data protection regulations and processes while maintaining the usefulness of the data
• You review the new state of the art, particularly with regard to re-identification (e.g., artificial intelligence), and take corrective action
• You interact closely with the data privacy compliance organization, data owners, and collaboration and R&D teams, including cutting-edge AI research

Your qualifications and experience:

• You have a master's degree in computer science, statistics, information technology, data science, or another equivalent discipline; a PhD is advantageous
• You have initial professional experience in the development of high-quality software
• You have knowledge of statistics, which you have acquired during your studies, and are ideally familiar with statistical data protection techniques and methods (e.g., Differential Privacy, k-Anonymity, data masking, hashing)
• You bring good knowledge of various programming languages, especially C++ and Python
• Knowledge in the field of image processing and machine learning is an advantage
