Job Summary/Description: Northern News Now in beautiful Duluth, MN has an opening for a Digital News Desk Anchor/Morning Broadcast Reporter. The top candidate will be a dynamic, high-level storyteller with a reassuring camera presence for this dual role. This position involves reporting live during our 5-7 a.m. morning newscast and anchoring from our Digital News Desk, sharing local content through our streaming platform for several hours following our morning show.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Report live during morning newscasts (5-7 a.m.) daily
• Receive assignment or evaluate news leads/news tips to develop story ideas and morning live shots
• Report live on the scene during breaking news when needed
• Operate Digital News Desk with live programming daily
• Gather, shoot, and edit content for multiple platforms
• Pitch and research stories daily
• Write stories for different platforms
• Organize material and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards
• Ability to fill in on different shifts if needed
• Gather and verify factual information regarding stories through interviews, observation, and research
• Represent the station at public functions as needed
• Other reasonable duties as assigned by the manager

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• Professional broadcasting experience preferred
• Mornings, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays may occasionally be required
• Ability to have flexible scheduling is preferred
• Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literacy required, including, ideally ENPS news system
• Knowledge of broadcast-quality camera equipment
• Edit video on Edius or similar equipment
• Strong broadcast and AP-style writing skills
• Positive attitude and self-motivated
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Must have a Valid Driver's License
