Your missing one ingredient that makes it a dead ringer for Mac Secret Sauce. If you take a taste of the sauce from the restaurant with a clean palate and a breath through your nose you can taste a small hint of Horseradish. That’s the missing ingredient. Just a little, I’ve never measured the amount, I just taste and add.
John Larson
This is a good sauce, very close to big mac sauce. Like nearly every other copy-cat sauce, no every attempt, is missing one thing.
You may not believe this but if you taste the real thing and breath through your nose. You will sense the very slight taste of HORSERADISH. That’s what it needs. Not very much, taste as you add. Let me know what you think.Edie
Thanks so much for sharing this! I made it and it was a huge hit!! (I skipped the 15 seconds in the nuker) …blogged about it too!! 🙂

I live in Australia and we don’t have miracle whip here, I don’t actually know what it is! I’m assuming some kind of mayonnaise like product. Can I use mayo as a sub for this recipe? Thanks!
Sara
Use mayo 🙂 Should be very similar

Little horseradish will make it a dead ringer for true mac sauce.
Barb
I still believe there is a touch of horseradish in the original sauce
